The Master: Szeto Yue’e

Szeto Yue’e (司徒月娥), Guangzhou Arts and Crafts Master

Szeto Yue’e is a Guangzhou Arts and Crafts Master specializing in Guangcai Canton porcelain: hand-painted overglaze enamel work known for brilliant color, fine line, layered ornament, and gilded detail. At Szeto Legacy Art, her porcelain works are presented as the central expression of a wider Szeto family art inheritance.

Family guidance and spiritual lineage

According to the family-confirmed narrative, Szeto Yue’e is the great-grandniece of Lingnan painter Szeto Qi (司徒奇), the niece of painter Szeto Naizhong (司徒乃钟), and a clan descendant shaped by the broader memory of Sha Fei (沙飞 / 司徒传). Szeto Qi and Szeto Naizhong are positioned as her early artistic teachers and spiritual lineage, giving her Guangcai practice a foundation in painting, connoisseurship, and disciplined visual culture.

Porcelain as the culmination

Rather than treating Guangcai only as decoration, Szeto Yue’e’s work uses Canton porcelain as a painting surface: figure, flower, auspicious symbol, gold, and blank porcelain work together as a collectible art object. For collectors, the value lies in authorship, handwork, family lineage, technique, provenance, and the integrity of each individual piece.
